We live half a block from the iconic St. Charles Streetcar line, and we call streetcars "beasties" in this house, after the catbus from My Neighbor Totoro.

It's true that beasties come in packs! Especially when there's trackwork up the line...grumblegrumble.

This sounds totally like Boston too. I think it was my friend rmd who said "The bus doesn't come every 15 minutes, it comes 4 times per hour." To which I added "and three of them at once."
