IMHO, PUFFY (aka Puffy AmiYumi) does a bang-up cover of this song.

Paran Maum, the band in the movie Linda Linda Linda, plays this tune too. This video's always amused me -- out of the four cast members, three only play band members on TV, but one's a musician in real life. Guess who it is. =)

Finally, I have no idea where the hell this is from O_o -- it sure as hell isn't The Blue Hearts as the title claims -- but...I, uh, kinda dig it? ^_^;

Literally 10 years on and I'm editing this post 😂

I finally realized why I don't like the vast majority of translations of this song that I find out on the internet. Most often, it's that they don't realize they're working from the censored version of the Japanese lyrics. And so they miss the translation of the hardest hitting line in an already hard-hitting song: 「気違い扱いされた日々」, "(for) every day they treated me like I was fucking crazy."

The offensive word in question is 気違い [きちがい], "kichigai", which is "madman" or "lunatic", to put it mildly. Yes, it's legit offensive, apparently so much so that even the lyrics card in the CD has "..." in place of it, a fact I only just learned. But, like...its use is (arguably) understandable, given the context? And you really do miss the biggest impact of the song if you don't get to understand that line.
